 Notes of denomination of Rs.500/- & Rs.1000/- at the

With reference to (i) above, instructions were issued vide reference (ii) 

cited that the collection of electricity bills by TANGEDCO shall be made upto the 

denomination of Rs.100/- only and that the consumers may be guided to make 

payment of EB bills through cheque, DD and using online modes, with effect from 

09.11.2016 onwards. It has also been communicated that suitable arrangement may 

be made to remit all the amount collected upto 8.11.2016 in the TANGEDCO's 

Collection Account with the Banks.

2.0) In the reference (i) cited, it has been stated that on humanitarian grounds 

notes of five hundred and one thousand rupees will be accepted at government 

hospitals, pharmacies in government hospitals (with prescription of a doctor), booking 

counters for railway tickets, government buses, airline ticket counters, petrol, diesel 

and gas stations of PSU oil companies, consumer cooperative stores authorized by the 

state or central government, milk booths authorized by state government and 

crematoria, burial grounds only.

3.0) Hence, in continuation to the reference (ii) cited above, as many consumers 

are left with few legal notes and as the banks are not working today, 9.11.2016, & 

moreover the drawl from Banks can be made in lesser amounts by the consumers

during the next few days, in order to overcome the difficulty in payment of EB bills, the 

following is instructed:

a. The last dates for payment of EB bills of the LT consumers which fall between 

9.11.2016 and 30.11.2016 may be extended by one more week from the respective 

last dates.(i.e) the last date for payment falling on 09.11.2016 may be extended upto 

16.11.2016 and so on and the last date which falls on 30.11.2016 may be extended 

upto 07.12.2016, without levy of BPSC, as a special case in this situation.

b. Similarly, for those LT consumers who have defaulted in payment for the 

latest billing month (whose last date fell upto 08.11.2016) and who come for payment 

may be permitted time upto 16.11.2016. However, the BPSC upto 08.11.2016 and RC 

fees may be collected.

c. Also the EMD for the tender which are payable by cash or any other payments 

receivable by TANGEDCO shall not be collected in the denomination of Rs.500/- and 

Rs.1000/- from 09.11.2016 onwards. For the tenders whose last date of submission of 

EMD falls on 09.11.2016, stands extended by one day (i.e) upto 10.11.2016. 

The SEs are instructed to adhere to the instructions and a compliance 

report may be submitted to the undersigned.
