PROCEEDINGS:-

         In the Board’s Proceedings first cited, orders have been issued for revision of Hill Allowance and Winter Allowance based on the Government order with effect from 1.9.1998.   In the Board’s Proceedings second cited, orders have been issued extending the above benefit of Hill Allowance and Winter Allowance to the employees working in Chitheri  Hills in Dharmapuri Electricity Distribution Circle.

         2. Earlier, while revising the wages with effect from 1.12.2007, the Allowances and Special Pay including the Hill and Winter Allowance have been doubled with effect from 1.9.2009 to the Employees and Officers of TANGEDCO.

         3. In the Government Order 5^th read above, the Government have enhanced the rates of Hill Allowance and Winter Allowances.  It has been represented to adopt the above Government Order.   After careful consideration, the TANGEDCO decided to adopt the Government Order to its employees.      

      

         4. Accordingly, it is hereby ordered that the Hill Allowance and Winter Allowance shall be revised as follows:-

Hill Allowance:-

         The existing rate of Hill allowance shall be retained at the same              rate of 20% of pay subject to the enhancement of maximum ceiling limit  from    Rs.900/-  to   Rs.1500/-   per   month.

Winter Allowance:-

         The revised rate of Winter Allowance shall be as below:-

1.	Those working in the places at 1000 meters to 1,499 meters above M.S.L	:	5% of basic pay including grade pay subject to a maximum of Rs.400/- p.m.
2.	Those working in the places at 1,500 meters above M.S.L.	:	10% of basic pay including grade pay subject to a maximum of Rs.500/- p.m.

         5. The Winter Allowance is payable only for four months in a year from November to February.

      

         6. The above orders will take effect from the date of issue of this order. 

         7. The receipt of this Board’s Proceedings should be acknowledged.
